I have spent some time with AI to do fun things like generate funny images and give summarized context on big new topics. AI is fun but the dangers of AI seem to be as visible as the dangers of social media. The idea that people dont have to think about anything and can quickly use AI to think for them or come up with ideas, do work for them, or solve problems can be a dangerous tool. I have always said that you should “Use technology and never let technology use you”. I make sure that im aware of how im using tools and what im using them for. This allows me to use AI tools like Grok or ChatGPT with caution and without falling to deep into the rabbit hole of addiction.
With that being said there are some things that I like to do quickly on the internet that get changed often. When I need to flip a coin I normally use a “hey google” prompt of some sort. When I try to convert specific currency, or manipulate a PDF quickly there are usually free tools online that I can use and move on rather quickly. However, a lot of these tools are no longer free or have moved from a subscription based model which sucks. So I decided to use AI to create ugly Javascript solutions to keep on my site so I have more control of them and know where to find them from now on. Sometimes when you cant find a solution anymore you gotta build it yourself, or contradict yourself in your own post and let AI do it for you lol. Updates on these will be done by me and maybe one day these tools wont have any lines written by AI.
